Zoie had a love for martial arts at a very young age and began her training when she was 8 at Sunrise Taekwondo in Maricopa, AZ under the direction of Master Lee Feiles. For the past few years she has trained at her home school with 4th Degree Black Belt and World Champion Mr. Scott Benton at Senior Master Michelle Landgren-Lee’s ATA in Tempe, AZ.
Bo staff was the first weapon Zoie started training with but quickly realized that chucks were the weapon for her.
Zoie’s first attempt at competing with chucks in creative and xma weapons was at the ATA World Competition in Little Rock, AR in 2013 earning her a 1st place in creative weapons and 2nd in xma. She has earned over 250 metals, ribbons and trophies and has traveled to tournaments across the country.
Competing, making friends all over the world and teaching young students to use the chucks are Zoie’s favorite things about martial arts. She continues to push herself to become a better marital artist and leader.
Zoie is a gifted student and has remained on the honor roll every semester of school she has ever attended. She plays the violin and is a huge fan of World Cup Soccer. She also recently became interested in doing marathons and other runs.
